Tara is an educator, community organizer, fundraiser, money witch, artist, and nonprofit baddie.

With roots in student government, universities, DEI, indigenous solidarity, wealth redistribution, queer futures, and transformative justice, Tara started community organizing as a teen and has stayed busy for the last 20 years.

A first generation college student with degrees in engineering and educational psychology, Tara has taught numerous university courses, facilitated hundreds of workshops, and co-authored several publications. Now a recovering academic and clinical burnout survivor, Tara is Founder and CEO of the Adopt a Debtor project, which offers trauma-informed financial education and advocates to abolish debt. As a consultant, Tara works to elevate teams, organizations, and leaders interested in social impact, resource mobilization, and healthy workplaces.

An anti-colonial, anti-racist, queer Montessori kid, Tara comes from European migrants and refugees, settlers and farmers, and is proudest of their ability to cultivate relationships. Tara tends a home and garden in Southern Tiwa Territory.
